MV Isle of Arran working beside Loch Frisa for next three weeks

With the introduction of the Glen Sannox to Arran, the MV Isle of Arran has been freed up to re-instate a 2-vessel service on the Craignure – Oban service from today (Jan 16th) through to February 9th. You can see the amended timetable online here.

The Deck Space Reservation Pilot will operate on all MV Isle of Arran sailings, as well as on the Frisa (though capacity at this time of year with two vessels should be ample).
Be aware that in the initial days of operation, the Isle of Arran’s lift will be out of service.
Some other adjustments to Coll/Tiree and Colonsay services have also been made possible, as a result of having this additional Oban-based boat.

Also –

  • We don’t yet have any news on a solution to the Isle of Mull’s limited capacity issue (like for example, if another vessel can cover for the Loch Frisa when she goes into dry-dock in March). We will update you as soon as we know anything.
  • As Iona residents will now know, the Bull Hole navigation light that collapsed just before Christmas has now been replaced, meaning that sailings in darkness have now resumed.
