Return of MV Isle of Mull delayed.

Another ship repair, another delay …

Scheduled maintenance on the MV Alfred is over-running by three days, and consequently the MV Isle of Mull will remain on service to Lochboisdale until late on Friday 25th July. The previous plan was for her to return on Wednesday 23rd. Her first sailing will be the 15:50 from Oban on the 25th.

Another spell of re-deployment that might affect us will be necessary from September 8th, when Troon’s linkspan will be closed. Much will depend on whether the Caledonian Isles will finally be seaworthy again by that point.

Deck Space Priority Scheme still active

Remember that the 72 hr Deck Space Priority Scheme is still active despite the disruption, but on Loch Frisa sailings only.

…and so is the Medical Appointment Protocol

The Urgent Medical Appointment Protocol is also still active. It is available if you have any kind of medical appointment on the mainland that you need to drive to/from, or if you are driving to collect someone after a hospital discharge. The protocol should ensure you can travel with your car, OR CalMac will pay for a taxi for the mainland portion of your journey. (See CalMac’s website here for details) . If you need to use the protocol but have any difficulty, please email us (or message via our Facebook page) and we will take up your case with senior management.
