Thanks to the negotiating (badgering) skills of committee member Neal Goldsmith, CalMac have been persuaded to hand out a leaflet explaining how to drive on single-track roads to every driver embarking for Mull during the summer. Neal represents us on the new CalMac Communities Board, and it was through his involvement there that he was able to make this happen.
The leaflet has been produced and paid for by Marketing Mull and Iona , our local Destination Marketing Organisation. It’s an example of the positive things that can be achieved by teamwork, and is only possible thanks to all the local tourist businesses that subscribe to MMI. If you are involved in tourism on Mull and Iona, you should be involved with MMI!
ALSO – in partnership with Mull Community Council, MMI have produced a guide for campervans and motorhomes, which CalMac have also agreed to hand out to every motorhome. We hope this will help to alleviate some of the ‘campervan issues’ we have experienced in recent summers.
The driving leaflet directs visitors to watch the video below – the work of Georgia O’Neil from Dervaig, who wins the prize for most creative contribution to driver-education in the Hebrides. Scroll down for the video…
It’s excellent….but the music is too loud.
